About Drubgyud Tenzin Rinpoche

Rinpoche was born in Nepal in 1983 and recognized by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche as the incarnation of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche’s maternal grandfather, Lama Sonam Zangpo. 

He is the abbot of Chökyi Gyatso Institute (CGI), a progressive monastery in eastern Bhutan that he founded. He has studied at various monastic colleges in the Himalayan region, including Chokyi Lodro Institute in Himachal Pradesh, India, and also learned Sanskrit in Varanasi, India.

Additionally, he completed a 3-year retreat in Paro Bhutan. Fluent in English, he is currently residing in Canada.
