About Eli Brown-Stevenson

Eli Brown-Stevenson is a dedicated Zen practitioner with over a decade of monastic life at the San Francisco Zen Center (SFZC). He currently holds the position of SFZC's Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and also serves as Corporate Secretary. In his roles, he focuses on conflict resolution, diversity, inclusion, and HR matters. Eli's Zen practice has been deeply influenced by his daughter, and he received priest ordination in 2019. Apart from his SFZC responsibilities, Eli is actively engaged in community service, offering meditation guidance at the San Francisco county jail, teaching mindfulness to BIPOC grade school children, and instructing young adults in SFZC's Young Urban Zen group.
