The Monlam Tibetan IT Research Centre, located in Dharamsala, India, recently released its Monlam Artificial Intelligence (AI) software tool to the Tibetan community.
This new AI tool is intended to aid in preserving the rich cultural heritage of Tibet, which encompasses literature, history, music, and Buddhist texts.
On November 2nd, the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts in McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala hosted a launch event attended by Sikyong Penpa Tsering, the leader of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), and CTA Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel.
Prior to the launch, the developers gave a demonstration of their Tibetan-language AI software to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) recently announced that Geshe Lobsang Monlam, the founder and CEO of the Monlam Tibetan IT Research Centre, gave an introductory speech to introduce the audience to the new features of their software (monlam.ai).
This is the Centre’s first foray into the world of artificial intelligence that has been gaining traction worldwide. The tool provides users with access to four primary machine-learning models: the Machine Translation Model, the Optical Character Recognition Model, the Speech-to-Text Model, and the Text-to-Speech Model.
