The White Tara is one of the 21 forms of Tara and is often given as a gift to Gurus, to wish them a long life and hence guide their disciples for longer.
The lotus that she holds, represents that all the qualities of an enlightened being are present in her. With her 7 eyes, she sees reality without samsaric influence and creates compassion through love, joy, equanimity, and compassion.
The White Tara is an extremely popular motif and makes for a beautiful present to anyone interested in Dharma.
