Description
Ritual Prayer Wheel from Nepal is handmade with 25x 24 x 15cm dimensions. A prayer wheel is a cylinder on a spindle made of leather, coarse cotton, stone, wood, metal, or any combination of those materials.
On the outside of the wheel, the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum is traditionally written in Nepal’s Newari language. Dakinis, Protectors, and the Ashtamangala’s eight fortunate emblems are occasionally also portrayed.
A “Life Tree” with specific mantras engraved on it or wrapped around it, frequently made of wood or metal, sits at the center of the cylinder. Then, this life tree is covered with countless mantras. Although Om Mani Padme Hum is the mantra that is most frequently said, other mantras can also be employed.
