Commemorating the life of Daisaku Ikeda with the Soka Gakkai

The Soka Gakkai, a Japanese Nichiren Buddhist organization, commemorated the life of Daisaku Ikeda, a renowned Buddhist philosopher, educator, author, and peace activist, with a memorial service at the Toda Memorial Auditorium in Tokyo on 23 November.
Ikeda had passed away at his home on 15 November at the age of 95.
Daisaku Ikeda, the third president of the Soka Gakkai Buddhist organization from 1960 to 1979, and founder of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), was a key figure in the dissemination of Buddhist teachings worldwide through the Soka Gakkai. He was also a major proponent of the socially engaged Buddhist movement.
