Engaging in the Bodhisattva’s Deeds with Tenzin Tsepal
This is one in a series of teachings with Tenzin Tsepal that draw from Shantideva’s timeless work, the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra, which is often interpreted as “Engaging in the Bodhisattva’s Deeds.”
The instruction also incorporates insights from Gyaltsab Je’s commentary outline and the commentary by Abbot Dragpa Gyaltsen.
The initial five perfections serve as a foundation to grasp the concept of emptiness. This includes an examination of the afflictive and cognitive obscurations, as outlined in the various tenet schools.
In the next step, Tenzin Tsepal delves into understanding the two truths. This encompasses not only the two truths themselves but also their connection to the Four Noble Truths.
Within this context, it becomes evident that how both seasoned yogis and ordinary individuals perceive the two truths may differ significantly.
As they advance on the path, higher-level yogis may find themselves in disagreement with the tenets held by lower-level yogis.
This leads to a process of refuting the claims made by the proponents of realism, further deepening our understanding of these intricate philosophical matters.
