Giant Seated Buddha Statue Unveiled in Myanmar

The Myanmar junta has erected a gigantic 19-meter-high statue of the in Naypyitaw, which is set to be consecrated on 1 August.

It is reportedly four meters taller than the famous Todai-ji in and may be the tallest in the world.

The head of the junta has been overseeing the project, which also includes several small , , rest houses, fountains, lakes, and a park.
