Meditation and Consciousness with John D. Dunne
John D. Dunne will talk at Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu. This lecture will explore the ways in which philosophical and scientific theories of consciousness are linked to meditation practices, with a special emphasis on the role of “reflexive awareness” (Skt. svasamvedanā; Tib. rang rig).

John Dunne is an expert in Buddhist philosophy and contemplative practice, and his research has been published in both Humanities and Science journals.
He explores the relationship between Cognitive Science, Psychology, and Buddhism, and examines how Buddhist philosophy and contemplative practice can be interpreted within scientific, philosophical, and cultural contexts.
