About Jann Ronis

Jann Ronis has a wealth of knowledge in Buddhology, pedagogy, and the digital humanities. 

He earned his MA and PhD from the University of Virginia, where he studied the Dergé Tibetan kingdom of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with a focus on Nyingma monasteries. 

His research has since broadened to include literary analysis and modern Tibetan culture. 

He is well-versed in classical and conversational Tibetan, including both Central and Kham dialects, as well as Mandarin Chinese.
