Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche – Honorary Degrees from SOAS University of London
Next week, four esteemed individuals will be awarded honorary degrees from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London, including the renowned Bhutanese lama, filmmaker, and author Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche.
Graduation ceremonies will be held on 5–7 September, beginning at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. UTC, each lasting around 90 minutes. Following the ceremonies, there will be receptions on campus.
Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, a renowned Buddhist scholar and teacher, is a strong proponent of the nonsectarian Rimé tradition.
He has put in a lot of effort to spread Buddhist teachings and establish places for studying and meditating globally, showing his commitment to advancing spiritual and humanitarian development on a global level.
He has established numerous organisations, including Siddhartha’s Intent International, Khyentse Foundation, and 84000, with the goal of translating every Buddhist teaching into English.
