Difference between natural nirvana and actual nirvana

Geshe Tenzin Chodrak (Dadul Namgyal) gave a lecture that is part of a series based on Shantideva’s Bodhisattvacharyavatara, with references to Gyaltsab Dharma Rinchen’s outline and Abbot Dragpa Gyaltsen’s commentary.

Disproving the five arguments put forward by realists, Verses 13 and 14ab state that natural nirvana is not the same as actual nirvana.

Verses 14cd and 15ab explain that if the causes of samsara have ceased, it will not return.

Verses 15cd and 16 refute the Cittamātra (Yogācāra) school’s argument that illusions could not be seen by a non-inherently existent consciousness.
