Overview of the 44th Annual Seminar and 18th International RYI Symposium
Rangjung Yeshe Institute (RYI) is gearing up for its 44th Annual Seminar and the 18th International RYI Symposium, set to take place in Nepal later this year.
Scheduled from November 22 to 30, the seminar will be hosted at the Pal Thubten Shedrub Ling (Thousand Buddha Temple) in Lumbini, Nepal, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Lhabab Duchen.
The Annual Seminar, a pivotal event since its inception in 1981 under the guidance of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, offers participants a comprehensive journey into Buddhist thought.
From foundational teachings to advanced concepts such as the ultimate view of reality according to the Dzogchen tradition, the seminar caters to students of all levels.
It combines philosophical study with practical meditation sessions, providing a balanced educational experience.
Lumbini, renowned as the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, holds profound historical and spiritual significance.
The location features ancient ruins like the Maya Devi Temple and the Ashoka Pillar, enriching the pilgrimage experience for scholars and practitioners alike.
In conjunction with the Annual Seminar, the 18th International RYI Symposium will commence on November 16 in Boudha, focusing on “The Scholar Practitioner Straddling Tradition and AI”.
This symposium aims to explore the intersection of traditional Buddhist teachings with contemporary challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
For those unable to attend in person, RYI will offer online streaming of the seminar, ensuring broader participation and accessibility.
