In 1983, Yeshe began to conceive the concept of Universal Education, which he believed was necessary due to the outdated nature of education and its role in causing conflict and dissatisfaction among the current generation. He proposed that a new, more expansive outlook on life was needed to replace old ideas and to provide people with a new imagination. This is what he meant by “universal.”

Universal Education is based on the 2,500 year old tradition of empirical research and practical application. It is expressed in modern language and that can be used by people from any background, and encourages an open-minded and hands-on approach.
