Yogic sciences students visit Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, students from University’s Yogic Sciences program visited the KU Centre for Studies at .

They participated in a lecture given by , who encouraged all attendees to engage in learning, , and taking steps to safeguard our planet, with a particular emphasis on reaching out to the youth.

Chökyi Nyima highlighted the growing popularity of materialism, contrasting it with the Buddhist rejection of materialist aims.

He encouraged practitioners to strive for calmness, , and .

Following the , students discussed their program with RYI Principal Dr. and Director of Studies Dr. Julia Stenzel, accompanied by program advisor Dr. Naresh Rimal.

An official invitation was extended to the at the Dhulikhel campus on June 21, 2024.

Launched in 2022, Kathmandu University’s Bachelor in Yogic Sciences and Wellbeing is a four-year program with around forty students.

It integrates practical and theoretical studies, including yoga practice, and afternoon classes on yoga and , , human biology, , and yogic practices.

The program includes a service component, with students teaching yoga in high schools throughout the Kathmandu Valley every Friday.
