About Tantric Buddhism
Buddhist Tantra, part of the Vajrayana tradition, is an advanced spiritual path aimed at achieving enlightenment in a single lifetime. It involves esoteric practices such as mantra recitation, mudras (hand gestures), visualizations, and meditation on mandalas and deities. Unlike common misconceptions associating tantra with sexuality, Buddhist Tantra emphasizes transforming ordinary experiences and energies into spiritual awakening, guided by a qualified teacher. It originated in India around the 3rd to 6th centuries CE and is prevalent in Tibetan and Japanese Buddhism.
