Certificate Program in Mindfulness & Psychotherapy for healthcare professionals
Barre Center for Buddhist Studies (BCBS) announces its partnership with the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy (IMP) for their Certificate Program in Mindfulness & Psychotherapy, a transformative 9-month training aimed at mental health and healthcare professionals.
Originating in the 1980s as a study group led by Dan Brown, the IMP garnered notable figures like Ram Dass and Jon Kabat-Zinn, evolving into a community of psychotherapists with dedicated meditation practices.
Over the years, the program expanded from local retreats to a comprehensive curriculum, culminating in a free-standing offering by the IMP in 2008.
Now, with the support of BCBS, the program has adapted to the digital age, offering both in-person and remote retreat options, fostering a global community of participants.
Guided by esteemed faculty and affiliated with prestigious institutions like the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion, the certificate program remains at the forefront of integrating Buddhist psychology into psychotherapy, under the steadfast leadership of Paul Fulton.
