Institut Vajra Yogini Has Completed 108 Nyung Na Retreats
Institut Vajra Yogini (IVY) in France has organized its twelfth set of 108 Nyung Na retreats from November 2022 to June 2023. This event is part of Thubten Zopa Rinpoche’s Vast Vision for the FPMT organization, which seeks to support those who make a strong commitment to complete 1,000 Nyung Na retreats. IVY has been hosting these retreats annually to help achieve this goal.
For the past decade, Lama Zopa Rinpoche has been providing food and lodging to those who take part in the 108 Nyung Na retreats. We are delighted to keep offering support in accordance with Rinpoche’s wishes, and in 2023, US$11,522 was allocated to the retreats.
The Nyung Na retreat is a two-day intensive practice that involves taking the 24-hour Mahayana precepts each day, along with full fasting and silence every alternate day. It consists of three sessions of approximately three hours each day, comprising meditation, prostrations, and chanting of mantras.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche has highly commended Nyung Na retreat as an exceptional way to alter the mind, which is a potent and experiential practice that can be done by anyone with reverence and trust in the practice.
