Recitation of Kangyur and Prajnaparamita by Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nuns
On July 9, 2024, the Khachoe Ghakyil Ling nuns will undertake the recitation of the Kangyur during Chokhor Duchen, commemorating Shakyamuni Buddha’s first Turning of the Wheel of Dharma.
In honor of Buddha’s first teaching, the FPMT Puja Fund has arranged for the recitation of the 100 volumes of Kangyur teachings and 100,000 verses of the Prajnaparamita Sutras, which are direct instructions from Guru Shakyamuni Buddha.
Thubten Zopa Rinpoche emphasizes the immense value of these teachings, stating they are the “real Dharma” that liberates beings from samsaric suffering.
Lama Zopa Rinpoche highlights the Prajnaparamita’s importance, quoting Buddha’s words to Ananda on preserving these teachings.
Rinpoche explains the extraordinary merits of engaging with these scriptures, as described in The Condensed Jewel Quality.
These merits surpass those of building countless jeweled stupas and making infinite offerings.
The recitations and practices are dedicated to the health and long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the swift return of Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the success of the FPMT organization, and global peace.
Additional activities include offerings, pujas, sutra printings, animal liberations, and tsa tsas making.
This marks the twenty-ninth consecutive year of these pujas, adhering to Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s advice on their importance.
