The Tenets of the Buddha Dhamma and Global Well-Being
The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) is joining forces with Gautam Buddha University (GBU) to commemorate the International Abhidhamma Divas, otherwise known as Abhidhamma Day.
This special occasion is slated to take place on the full moon day of Śharada Pūrṇimā, which is 28 October in the lunar calendar, at the GBU campus in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The international conference, titled “The Tenets of the Buddha Dhamma and Global Well-Being: Nature, Significance, and Applicability”, will run from 28 to 30 October.
This year’s festivities have a special meaning as they mark the 100th anniversary of Dr. Satya Narayan Goenka, also known as the “Vipassanā Ācārya” who introduced mindfulness meditation to the West.
The conference and celebrations will provide a forum for “profound conversations, reflections, and the examination of Buddhist teachings for the improvement of global well-being.”
