About Desire

In Dharma traditions, desire is seen as a natural yet potentially obstructive force.
In Hinduism, it’s balanced within ethical bounds (Dharma). Buddhism views desire (tanha) as the root of suffering, urging mindfulness and the Noble Eightfold Path.
Jainism sees desires as binding the soul, advocating detachment for liberation.
Sikhism associates desires with illusion (maya), encouraging focus on God (Naam) to transcend them. Overall, managing or transcending desire is key to spiritual growth and liberation.
