The nature of vows in Vajrayana with Jampa Thaye

Lama Jampa Thaye delivered teachings in Bristol call “Discriminating the Three Vows” addressing the nature of vows in vajrayana.

He emphasized the need for actual transformation to test the effectiveness of vajrayana methods, referencing Indian mahasiddhas.

Sakya Pandita distinguished common mahayana’s gradual path to enlightenment from vajrayana’s quicker process of initiation and practice leading to enlightenment in this life.

Lama Jampa then initiated Chenrezik Mahamudra, clarifying Mahamudra as a clear understanding of the true nature of reality.

This initiation, transmitted through the Sakya tradition, was originally given by Chenrezik to Jetari.
