About Monks
In the context of Dharma, monks are individuals who have renounced worldly life to fully devote themselves to spiritual practice, ethical discipline, and the pursuit of enlightenment. They follow strict monastic codes (Vinaya), engage in meditation, study sacred texts, and perform rituals. Monks live in monastic communities (Sanghas), where they cultivate virtues such as compassion, wisdom, and detachment. Their primary role is to preserve and disseminate the teachings of the Buddha, guiding laypeople on the path to Dharma.
