Bhikkhu Sanghasena Leads Mahakaruna Diwas in New Delhi
On Sunday, Bhikkhu Sanghasena, a well-known spiritual leader and socially active Buddhist, led the commemoration of Mahakaruna Diwas (Great Compassion Day) 2024 in New Delhi.
This yearly event marks the beginning of various activities and projects in India and around the world with the goal of spreading the timeless wisdom and teachings of compassion from the Buddha for the betterment of all living beings.
The Mahakaruna Diwas 2024 event was collaboratively arranged by:
- Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) in Ladakh
- Mahakaruna Foundation in Delhi
- Adhyatm Sadhna Kendra in Delhi
Bhikkhu Sanghasena, who serves as the spiritual director of the non-profit Mahabodhi International Meditation Center in northern India, is also the founder of the Mahakaruna Foundation, the Save the Himalayas Foundation, and a spiritual advisor to the International Network of Engaged Buddhists (INEB).
