Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche guides us in ways to unite the mind and body, and states that this practice can ultimately help us access our natural sense of contentment.
Rinpoche suggests starting the meditation by focusing on one part of the body, such as the hand, and noticing the sensations of gravity, relaxation, and tingling.
If this is difficult, it can be helpful to move the attention to a different area. Additionally, individuals can rub their hands together faster and faster until the hand is placed down and the focus shifts to the forehead and then to the top of the head, relaxing the muscles and paying attention to any sensations that arise.
The purpose of this meditation is to be authentic with oneself, become grounded, and gain insight into the true nature of the body and mind.
