On 20 September, the Tergar Osel Ling monastery located on the outskirts of Kathmandu, opened its doors to welcome the first group of students to the newly established Tergar Institute.
The Tergar Institute is offering its Foundations of Buddhist Experience course, which combines traditional Vajrayana Buddhist teachings with modern educational techniques.
For Fall 2024, two courses are being offered: Foundations of Buddhist Experience and Buddhist Experience Level 2.
The Foundations course will provide an overview of the three vehicles with Ground, Path and Fruition as the main structure. It will also cover the fundamentals of the Kagyu-Nyingma lineages.
The Level 2 course will delve deeper into two aspects of Mahayana, namely mind training and Madhyamika philosophy, building on the knowledge acquired in the Foundations course.
Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, a highly respected Dharma teacher and tulku of the Karma Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism, has established Tergar Osel Ling as a functioning monastery and spiritual home for the Tergar Global Community.
